Frenquently Asked Questions Maternity and Newborn Shoot

When should I book my session?

A.As soon as you know you want your photo shoot. I only take a small amount of bookings per month. Especially if you want a session in October until December book as early as possible.

Can we book you to come to our house?

A.Yes, If it's in the surrounding areas of my studio (20km). The session fee will double for an in home session due to the travel and extra time of the session.

When is the best time to have my maternity session?

A.I usually recommend mummies to organise their sessions between 28 – 33 weeks. At this stage you will have a beautiful bump and still comfortable for you to move around easily. Of course we still get amazing photos after that stage. I have photographed bumps at 40 weeks. It really depends as well, how big you like your belly to be in the photos. But sometimes at the end of a pregnancy, your feet get swollen, you cant sit or lay and you really want to feel great for this session and own that moment!

What should I bring for the newborn session?

A.I have all the props that we are going to use during the session. However, you can bring a small toy or blanket that is an important present from a loved one. It will be a pleasure to incorporate them into the photos.
Also make sure to bring enough nappies, wipes, dummies and, if your baby is bottle fed, formula.

When is the best time to photograph my newborn baby?

A.I love to have the babies at 7 days old in the studio, now i know this is not always possible due to many reasons but staying as close as possible to 7 days is very important for this photo shoot. During the first few days they are more sleepy and squishy and we can mould them into those beautiful and cute poses. Also every day they are in the world they get cuter and nosier and will not sleep if something other than usual happens in their short little life, which is completely understandable. After saying all this a newborn session is possible up to 6 week old.

Are parents and siblings allowed during the session?

A.Siblings and parents are welcome to the photoshoot. These photos can be taken at the Start of the session, because the little ones will get bored. Now if they are older or even very interested i will include the siblings throughout the shoot into the photos.

How do you keep the studio clean?

A.All props are washed and sanitised before and after the session. I will be wearing masks during the sessions and sanitising my hands frequently. Sanitiser and masks are provided, however you can bring your own mask.

Where is your studio?

A.In East Cork Youghal. My eircode is p36rh59!
